During the Punjab Technical University Convocation held on 13th Feb.,2009, Swarndeep Singh of our IITT College of Engineering Pojewal was honoured with Silver Medal for standing IInd in the University order of Merit in EIE Branch of Engineering for his overall performance after passing out from the College in 2008.

The Management is pleased to honour his Academic performance for bringing laurel to the College and wishes him bright and prosperous Career for times to come.

IITTians at IIT Kharagpur Tech Fest
Two of our students – Miss Shruti and Mr. Bhaskar of CSE 3rd year participated in the Tech Fest Kchitij 09 at IIT Kharagpur from 29th Jan to 01st Feb 09. The two members team representing this college were the finalist in the ‘open Software’ event .By virtue of participation in the final round. They earned the position of student partner for the coming forth Annual Technical Festival of the IIT Roorkee named COGNIZANCE 2009 scheduled to be held from 20th to 22nd March 09. The details of the event and other aspects which are programmed to be part of the festival are given in the poster displayed at the notice Board. Gurind Systems Pvt. Limited conducted Campus Placement at IITT on 22nd April 2008 & selected four students. Their training Period salary package is Rs. 10000/- per month.

Inter Semester Football Tournament six-a-side was played amongst the Students of the College .The Students were divided into 8 teams and final match was played on 12th April 08. 2nd year Electrical Engg Team were the winner and IIIrd year Mech Engg were declared runner up. Prizes were distributed by the Vice Principal Ceremony. Sunny Sethi, 4th year Students won the ‘Player of the Tournament‘Trophy. The Management appreciated the spirit –de crops amongst the students and conveyed their best wishes to all participating students. Events was covered by leading News Papers and gave vide publicity.

Industrial Tour was organized by IITT College of Engineering Pojewal for their visit to “HMT Pinjore” & Advance Study & Research Centre Ambuja Cement Palaghat –Distt/ Solan ,HP from 10 to 12 Apr 2008 for the benefit of final year students of the College . A presentation was given by the management about the infrastructure , technology used and manufacturing process involved. The visit was knowledge based and educative for the overall benefit of the Students. Three faculty members has accompanied the students who were provide bus facility by the College for their entire journey

Inter Semester Football Tournament was held from 9th April to 12th April 08. Match were played in the Afternoons to avoid loss of studies. Team of 4th Semester was champions and were awarded trophy and individual prizes.

M/s JHS SVEND GARD Laboratories Ltd. conducted campus placement on 08th April 2008 and selected 16 students from Campus placement at a starting salary of Rs. 15,000/- for the training period and thereafter Rs. 25,000/- PM . Five Students from CSE, 5 ECE, 1 EE & 5 Students ME department were selected.

IITT College of Engineering Pojewal team composed of 3 faculty member and 40 students of Chemical Engineering & IT Branch had visited Verka Milk Plant Mohali on 07 Apr 08 to familarize themselves with the Milk products production technology and manufacturing processes involved. The visit was successfull and appreciated by all participant staff members and the students.

Electronic Corporation of India Ltd (Gurgaon) has visited IITT College of Engineering Pojewal on 19 Mar 08 for placement interview of the students of Electronic & Communication Engineering, Electronic & Instrumentation Engineering, Computer Science Engineering and Information Technology . Team members were welcomed by the Vice Principal and Training & Placement officer of the College. Thereafter the Company gave a presentation of its organization, role and the objective to the participating students, followed by Conduct of Group discussion amongst the participating students and finally conducted individual interviews. The participating students were of 6th & 8th semester of the College in the placement drive. A total of 22 Nos Students were shortlisted by the Company with a Salary package of Rs. 2.5 to 4 lacs per year depending upon the merit of the student. Keeping in view the response & success rate, many more placement interview are being organized by the College placement cell.

Academic Excellence
Our students topped in the HP Univ. Examination continuously for there years in all streams of engineering . A number of IITT Tians have undergone for higher studies leading to M.Tech/ Ph.D in foreign Univ. in UK/Austalia/ US/Germany.

Participation is NSS activities:-
The NSS programmes involving students and faculty members was one of peak activities as several camps were organized in the region. It provides sense of togetherness and co-operation when students get involved in social programmes.

	March 11, 2007 Trilokpur Village A camp was organized involving 30 students to participate in the water pond cleaning programme in the near by Village Trilokpur. It was appreciated by the people in the region.
	April 15, 2007 Churdhar Village camp The camp was organized in Churdhar village at the height of 9000 feet to apprise villagers about the flora and fount in the high riches of Churdhar range. It was attented by 50 villagers of the region
	Feb 08,2007 Temple cleaning 70 Students of final year class were involved in the camp organized for cleaning of temple area in the college

Nov17-18-2007 Excursions
Students and faculty members visited the famous Ranuka Lake Hills and it was a spotted programmes for outgoing students of final semester . Students participated and made the visit a memorable moment. The historic places of the hill regions surrounding Nahan and Ponta Sahib were also visited.

Nov 24-26,2007 Sports Activities:-
Sports is a regular feature in the college and a routine schedule is followed by Hostellers as well as Day scholars to participate in different games. The students of four disciplines participated in competition in Cricket, Badminton and Volleyball held at the college during Nov.07. The winners were given prizes and mementoes by the Principal

Hostel Functions
The girl students of two hostels made a significant contribution by organizing College level programmes on different occasions :

September 4, 2007 Janam Ashtami:
It was celebrated in the college temple and attended by all the hostellers. A good gesture shown by the students who participated in the programme with zeal and interest.

March 3, 2007 Holi Festival:
The colourful festival was celebrated in the college and Hostels. The girls participated in number in the event A colourful evening programme was also organized and attended by the students of both Boys and Girls hostels

January 13, 2007 Lohri Festival:
It was a joint function attended by the students of Boys and Girls Hostels in the main Campus. A get to gather function was also held in the evening where students, faculty and staff members participated

Dec09,2007 Hostel Night:
A prime celebration of the girl Hostellers in the college held in Dec 09, 2007. Drama, song and mono acting competitions were major items in the programme. The winners are:

Dec 23,2007 Painting & Rangoli
It was a good programme organized by the hostellers and all students and faculty members were invited to witness the presentation.

Industrial Tours:
An Industrial Trip was organized for the students to Visit FRI Dehradoon. It was very interesting to find students of ECE and Computer science to take keen interest in forest bused research institute and its Labs in one of the foremost research organization in the country. Knowledge of allied fields of science & tech plays significant role in upgrading the skills of the younger at the stage of their career development.

Drug addition
Drug Addition is one of the major menace particularly amongst the students in the colleges and the Universities in the country. To have a focus on this big issue of concern today , a camp was organized by the college in the nearby vicinity . Students of local schools and colleges were gathered and a general Campaign on the Drug Addiction and its bad Effects on the Society were Highlighted by delivering lectures by experts in the area. It was one of very successful events of the college attended by its students & outsiders. Printed material was also distributed to bring an impact on the minds of the people.

Health Awareness camp
Health Awareness camp was organized by the college in near by Village at Moligan.The Villagers were given a demonstration of Health Keep- fit by the experts invited for the purpose. Around 150 villagers’ particularly female members took active part in this programme. Printed material was distributed to the participants. The College students showed a keen interest in this programme and were involved very actively.

Jan. 11,2007 Engineering Model Competition:
An open competition was held in the college inviting students to take part in the making of Engineering models from the Scratch. Twelve teams participated in the competition and three teams were adjudged the best in performance. The models of Hydrogen Rocket, an Advanced Tracter , an Hydro Electrical Dam were the best models prepared and the groups were awarded Prizes. The models are displayed in the college. This was one of the best activites organized of the college organized by the students.

Our Students have been securing top positions in H.P. University Examination for last three years in all streams of Engineering.

Our Placement record is excellent during last years. All students are placed in Multinational Companies, Organisations, Embassies in India & Abroad and in companies like Infosys, Wipro, Tata, Accenture etc.

A number of IITTians have undergone for higher studies leading to M.Tech / Ph.D. in foreign Universities in U.K., Australia, U.S. and Germany

Engineering Model Competetion organised for students - 5 best models were prized. Students participated with full zeal and intent.

Inter College Poster Competetion - Ekta secured Ist position in 2007 and three other students also got prizes.

The entire campuses at Kala Amb and Pojewal including hostels are now having the Wi Fi Internet Connectivity. Students & Faculty can have 24X7 access to this facility.

Digitization of Library for having e-mode Resource Content Consultation is made functional in the Colleges.
